Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know what size to get my dachshund?
Measure your dachshund's chest (the widest part, just behind the front legs) — that's what determines fit, not weight or "standard vs. mini." We size XXS–L (and XL for our Step-In Adventure styles) based on chest measurement. Between sizes? Size up. Size chart can be found in the product images. Will this harness hurt my dachshund's back?
No — it's built the opposite way on purpose. Dachshunds have a long spine and short legs, so pressure needs to sit across the chest, not the neck. Every Woof + Ween harness distributes pressure that way.
How do I put it on correctly?
Logo faces front on the chest, straps run down along the spine. If it's twisted or riding up toward the neck, it's not on right. You should be able to slide two fingers underneath comfortably once it's fitted.
What if I order the wrong size?
30-day returns. Just confirm it was worn correctly first (see above) before assuming it doesn't fit — that's the most common culprit. Return shipping is on the customer; email us at hello@woofandween.com to initiate your return.
Can I exchange for a different size or color?
Yes — since our harnesses sell out fast, exchanges are processed as a return + new order rather than a direct swap, so you're not waiting on restock.
Is it machine washable?
We don't recommend the washer, but it's easy to hand wash. Rinse with warm or cold water first to remove excess dirt (never hot water), then soak in warm/cold water with a little regular Dawn dish soap or detergent — no hand soaps, since the antibacterial agents in those can damage the material. Hang dry. If you do use a washing machine, do so at your own risk on a gentle cold cycle only.

The size guide shows the minimum and maximum measurements each size can adjust to. PLEASE NOTE THE MEASURMENTS ARE SHOWN IN BOTH INCHES AND CENTIMETERS. Please follow the instructions of measuring your pup to ensure you order the correct size. If your pup is between sizes, or closer to the end of one size, we suggest sizing up.

CARE
1. Rinse with warm or cold water to first remove excess dirt (DO NOT USE HOT WATER).
2. Soak in luke warm/cold water mixed with a little soap (we only suggest regular dawn dish soap or detergent. NO HAND SOAPS>>they contain antibacterial that could damage the product) DO NOT SCRUB WITH HARSH BRISTLED BRUSHES.
3. Hang dry
PLEASE NOTE: We do not recommend washing in the washer.
However, if you chose to do so at your own risk, a gentle COLD cycle would be best. Please note that we are not responsible for items that are damaged due to being washed incorrectly. Hot water can cause the inner fabric layers to separate causing damage to the product overtime.
Also, please note that salt water may be harsh on the metal hardware so be sure to dry quickly after the beach.
SIZE + CARE for APPAREL
All of our non embroidered apparel is printed with a special dye directly onto the garments. We recommend that all apparel be washed on a cold cycle and hung dry to prolong its life.
